In a world full of change, sometimes it is refreshing to find a place almost identical to the day of its creation. In the United States that search usually comes up short but not in New Haven. Sally’s Apizza rests in the town’s little Italy section, untouched since 1938. A few framed photographs and memorabilia represent the only new aspects to what many debate is the best pizza in New Haven.

Salvatore Consiglio advised pizza purists to dine at his establishment beginning in the 30s. Sally died in 1989, but the pizzeria continues to stay all in the family. Sal’s wife, daughter and two sons serve diners to this day.
